CMC Energy Services, a pioneer in promoting energy efficiency nationwide, has the tools to persuade millions of homeowners each year to stop wasting energy. Our core business is the design and administration of energy efficiency programs throughout the United States. Since our founding in 1977, CMC has been awarded over 100 utility contracts and completed more than 325,000 residential energy audits and 30,000 commercial audits.

In 2005 CMC launched Home Energy Tune-uP™, our “pay-from-the-savings” residential energy audit program. CMC has trained more than 2,000 home energy auditors nationwide over the past five years. We have authored a book that introduces an innovative market driven solution for upgrading the efficiency of millions of homes each year, an auditor’s training book for the classroom, as well as a certification test.

About our Training Staff
Steve Luxton, CMC’s Director of Technical Training, is an authorized BPI Building Analyst Instructor, and holds two BPI certifications as a Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional. With over 14 years experience in energy efficiency education, Mr. Luxton has trained over 2,000 inspectors nationwide in CMC’s Home Tune-uP system. He also provides customized training to CMC’s utility client employees, program subcontractors and in-house staff. He conducts train-the-trainer sessions for utility employees and community based groups. 

Mr. Luxton is a highly respected energy assessment presenter/ trainer at national conferences and symposia, and is the co-author of Home Tune-uP: Empowering Energy Savings Nationwide, a book that introduces an innovative market driven solution for upgrading the efficiency of millions of homes each year. Mr. Luxton has personally performed more than 2,000 audits. He has extensive experience inspecting the work of energy auditors and subcontractors as well as resolving customer service issues and creating training manuals and technical documentation.
